Kuwait opens the door to work for Egyptians

Mohamed Shalaby - | Business

The Kuwaiti government decided to allow Egyptians to work on its territory after more than 16 months of waiting. For Egyptians, Kuwait offers employment opportunities. In order to close the employment gap, Kuwait is looking to add additional workers to certain jobs in the near future. Egypt is able to find employment in Kuwait.

On March 7, the Manpower Authority and Kuwait's General Administration of Residence Affairs reached a consensus to reinstate work licenses for Egyptians employed by the government in compliance with Article 17.

The Kuwaiti government has been trying to get more people to invest in Kuwait in the last few years.

To fill the labor shortage for these projects, the number of jobs available within Kuwaiti borders was increased, strengthening this strategy.

In an effort to address this labor deficit, Kuwait has recently started enacting many rules that prevent foreign workers from entering the country.

The most well-known of these rules is the part-time work permit, which was granted to residents or employees living in Kuwait.

However, it appears that this choice was insufficient to close the skills gap in some of the occupations Kuwait would require in the near future.

Working conditions in Kuwait for Egyptians

The Kuwaiti labor force has established two prerequisites for granting work permits to Egyptian applicants. These prerequisites are as follows:

  • Examine patients medically in accredited facilities to make sure test results are accurate.
  • putting the employee's national Egyptian number on official documentation.

Organizations permitted to import Egyptians

The following ministries and agencies are not permitted to accept Egyptian immigrants, according to a list provided by the Kuwaiti government:

  • Islamic Affairs
  • Ministry of Islamic Affairs
  • Ministry of Health
  • Municipality of Kuwait

Kuwait requires some professions

The following specializations were among the several that the Kuwaiti government was prepared to hire Egyptian laborers in:

  • The medical professionals
  • Instructors Nurses
  • Mosque imams
  • Gravediggers
  • dead washers
