The 20-time English champions are rumored to have achieved a full agreement with Atalanta BC over a deal for the Denmark international during the course of the weekend. The arrangement involves the transfer of the player.

Hojlund did not play for Atalanta in their preseason friendly match against Bournemouth on Saturday. There have been rumors that Manchester United are close to signing him, thus Atalanta decided not to use him.

After reaching a compromise on their respective original estimates, the two teams have agreed to make the whole deal for the 20-year-old player worth an estimated €70 million (£60.1 million).

The forward reportedly finished his medical checks with Manchester United on Tuesday, in addition to completing the first part of his media responsibilities at the club, as stated by a transfer specialist named Fabrizio Romano.

Romano asserts that Hojlund will formally sign his contract with the Red Devils on Wednesday, and a statement from Erik ten Hag's camp is expected to follow shortly thereafter.

The Dane is therefore anticipated to practice with his colleagues at Carrington before the end of the week, with the intention of participating in either the friendly match against Lens or the friendly match against Athletic Bilbao that will take place this weekend.

If Hojlund is able to demonstrate that he is in good physical shape, he will have the opportunity to make his debut for his new team in the 2023-24 Premier League season when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 14.

The forward is expected to become Manchester United's third acquisition of the summer transfer season, following the arrivals of Mason Mount and Andre Onana at Old Trafford during the course of the current market.

Hojlund moved to Atalanta from Sturm Graz the previous year, and in his first campaign with the Italian club, he made 34 appearances and scored 10 goals while also dishing out four assists.

Earlier this year, there were persistent rumors that Harry Kane would be moving to Old Trafford. However, it became immediately apparent that Tottenham Hotspur would not trade the England captain to a team that competes with them in the Premier League.

While everything was going on, the Red Devils were also priced out of a deal for Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who is expected to play football in Italy for at least one more season.

It is believed that Manchester United are still interested in adding more players to their roster, and Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina has been widely linked with a move to Old Trafford as a result.

Any more signings, though, are likely going to be contingent on players leaving the club. Scott McTominay, Fred, Donny van de Beek, and Harry Maguire have all been mentioned in connection with potential exits from the club.
