Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have established themselves as the frontrunners eight months after the Glazers' initial announcement that they were prepared to work with new investors or sell the club outright.

Given that Sheikh Jassim intends to complete a full acquisition, he is currently viewed as the favorite, whereas Ratcliffe desires only a minority stake to begin with.

There has yet to be a significant breakthrough in negotiations with the Glazers, and the saga is impeding Manchester United's summer transfer business, reportedly to Erik ten Hag's displeasure.

Man United have only signed Mason Mount from Chelsea so far, paying an initial £55 million plus an additional £5 million for the English playmaker.

A agreement to bring Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana to Old Trafford is also believed to be nearing completion, and Ten Hag is also on the lookout for a new striker this summer.

Although the Glazers have reportedly assured Ten Hag that funds will be made available, it remains to be seen how much money will remain in Manchester United's transfer purse after Onana's signing.

Nonetheless, if the American tycoons reach an agreement with Sheikh Jassim over a sale in the coming weeks, according to the Daily Star via Sky Sports News, as many as six more signings could be made.

In recent weeks, Manchester United have been linked with bids for several high-priced players, including Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani, and Napoli's Victor Osimhen.

However, moves for all three strikers, who are valued at over £100 million by their respective clubs, have been deemed infeasible, forcing the Red Devils to contemplate other options.

Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta BC has emerged as the frontrunner to lead the line for Manchester United next season, but the Italian club is demanding an exorbitant £85.8 million.

Man United were also rumored to be interested in signing Kim Min-jae of Napoli as a new central defender, in addition to augmenting their attack.

The South Korean international will instead join Bayern Munich, and Monaco's Axel Disasi is believed to be Ten Hag's top transfer target.

The Red Devils have already lost David de Gea, Phil Jones, and Axel Tuanzebe to free agency this summer, as well as FC Utrecht's Zidane Iqbal.

If appropriate offers are received, Anthony Martial, Harry Maguire, Eric Bailly, Fred, Dean Henderson, Scott McTominay, Alex Telles, Donny van de Beek, Anthony Elanga, and Hannibal Mejbri should also be permitted to leave.
