Emirates Expands to Montreal: Enhancing Connectivity to Canada
The airline will operate daily flights on the Dubai-Montreal route using its wide-body Boeing 777-300ER, while maintaining daily A380 services to Toronto. The first flight, EK243, took off from Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport with 339 passengers, including a VIP delegation and media.
Strengthening North American Network: More Options for Travelers
The introduction of daily services to Montreal complements Emirates' existing seven weekly services to Toronto, expanding its North American network to 14 destinations and a total of 18 across the Americas. This enhancement provides travelers from various points, such as Lebanon, India, Iran, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and South Africa, with convenient connectivity to Canada through Dubai. The new direct route is expected to cater to a diverse mix of demographics, including business and leisure travelers, as well as Canadians living and working in the UAE.
A Gateway for Education and Cultural Exchange
Montreal's reputation as a hub for world-class universities is anticipated to attract students from the Middle East, West and Central Asia, and the Far East, making the route highly popular among the academic community. Among the Emirates executives on the inaugural flight were Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer; Salem Obaidalla, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Americas; and David Broz, Vice President of Aeropolitical and Industry Affairs. Salem Obaidalla expressed the significance of the route for both Emirates and Canadian passengers, with a seamless daily flight between Dubai and Montreal.
Strengthening Canada-UAE Relations
The newly established direct flight between Montreal and Dubai is a testament to the expanded Air Transport Agreement signed in April, aiming to boost air links between the UAE and Canada. Ambassador Panday highlighted the importance of direct flights in fostering people-to-people connections and cultural exchanges between the two vibrant cities. This new link is expected to elevate the Canada-UAE relationship, facilitating more travel, trade, and understanding between the two nations, and benefiting the 45,000 Canadians residing in the UAE.
Exceptional Travel Experience on the Dubai-Montreal Route
Emirates will deploy its renowned three-class Boeing 777-300ER on the route, offering passengers eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class, and over 300 spacious seats in Economy Class for the daily service. The airline has been serving customers between Dubai and Toronto since 2007, with the A380 aircraft operating the route since 2009. The additional Montreal route comes as a welcome relief to meet the consistently growing demand from leisure, corporate travelers, diaspora, and students on this sector and beyond.
