Sharjah Government Communication Award: Recognizing Impactful Communication Targeting Youth
This prestigious award features two specialized Arab categories specifically designed to acknowledge exceptional efforts in youth-focused communication, including support for entrepreneurs and startups by accelerators and incubators. Additionally, a third category is dedicated to recognizing talented young individuals who have displayed outstanding initiatives in government communication.
Universities Challenge: Celebrating Outstanding Communication by Students
University students in the UAE and the broader GCC region have the opportunity to take part in the Universities Challenge, a platform that celebrates remarkable communication campaigns and programs developed by students. This initiative aims to honor and showcase exceptional communication efforts by university students, providing a platform for recognition and appreciation.
Honoring Youth-Focused Programs and Initiatives
The 'Best Communication Targeting Youth' award category recognizes individuals, government entities, semi-government organizations, or private institutions that have achieved significant and measurable results through their communication campaigns and programs aimed at youth. It consists of three subcategories: Best Campaign for Positive Impact on Youth Awareness and Practices, which honors campaigns promoting positive values and concepts among youth or reinforcing positive social practices among them.

The newly introduced 'Best Communication Programme to Support Youth Entrepreneurship and Projects' category highlights successful communication programs initiated by government entities, semi-government organizations, and private institutions that support youth projects, entrepreneurship, and startups. These programs provide solutions and build networks to overcome the challenges faced by youth in the business community , The third category, 'Best Youth Initiative in Government Communication,' recognizes individuals or youth groups that have launched communication campaigns or initiatives addressing crucial issues, creating innovative communication channels between policymakers and the public, or inspiring government entities to undertake projects or initiatives supporting youth causes.
Embracing Innovation in Government Communication through Universities Challenge
Engaging youth in communication and addressing public concerns have become increasingly important. The Universities Challenge, organized in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) as part of the International Government Communication Forum, aims to foster innovation and creativity in communication among university students in GCC countries. Participating teams from each university will develop innovative projects in government communication, such as essential institutional services, digital platforms for public institutional communication, or any other initiatives that contribute to society.

Entities and individuals interested in the SGCA award can submit their applications through the official website, www.igcc.ae, until August 15, 2023. Applicants must ensure that all required information is accurately provided. The SGCA welcomes entries from communication professionals and entities across the UAE and Arab countries, who can choose to apply for either the Arab or global award categories, depending on the competitiveness of their application among nominees from around the world.
