Masters sets of Magic: The Gathering typically cater to accomplished and dedicated players. Some, such as Modern Masters, featured the defining cards of a specific format. Others, such as Iconic Masters, were more focused on emphasizing legendary and uncommon cards from Magic's past. But the forthcoming Commander Masters set is the first Masters set ever designed specifically for Commander.

Fans can anticipate potent and intricate cards from throughout Magic's history being combined to create an entirely new draft environment. As with previous Masters sets, Commander Masters will provide an opportunity for long-overdue reprints of valuable cards, the introduction of inventive new legendary creatures, and the redesign of artwork for fan favorites. In addition to a number of prominent reprints, WotC has unveiled a smattering of brand-new cards that will serve as Commanders for a new set of preconstructed decks.
Arachnogenesis is an example of a Magic: The Gathering card that is uncommon and enigmatic due to insufficient printing. Only one copy of Arachnogenesis was printed in Commander 2015 decks, making it a rare card with a $60 price tag. This also indicates that very few players have even seen this card, let alone used it.
This reprint should make Arachnogenesis considerably more accessible and affordable in Commander Masters, and many casual players will discover it for the first time. These obscure cards can add a lot of depth to Limited by requiring players to succeed with cards they are unfamiliar with.

Purphoros, God of the Forge is a $20 card that rewards the player for using numerous aggressive creatures in their deck. If its controller deploys enough creatures, Purphoros can eliminate all opponents in multiplayer games with its first ability, giving the player much-needed reach in a stalled board state.
The second ability of Purphoros encourages go-wide strategies in red decks by transforming even the weakest creature tokens, such as 1/1 Goblins, into formidable threats. This ability is not nearly as effective in decks with fewer, stronger creatures that rely on trample to drive damage.
Demonic Tutor is one of Magic: the Gathering's earliest cards, first appearing in the 1993 Alpha set and receiving seven additional printings since then, the most recent being in 2021's Strixhaven Mystical Archive. Despite all these printings, Demonic Tutor costs $43 and is difficult to locate.
Thankfully, Commander Masters is bringing back Demonic Tutor, including a borderless variant with new art and flavor text. Classic, iconic cards such as Demonic Tutor should always be more accessible in order to satisfy veteran players who revere their power, as well as to introduce them to newer players and allow them to play with a piece of Magic's history.
