Impressively, more than 123 million rides were taken on the Green and Red lines of the Dubai Metro during the first six months of this year. Comparatively, public taxis catered to over 96 million trips, while public buses facilitated 83 million journeys. The data also showed that shared mobility, including carpooling, contributed to 21 million journeys, marine transport saw 9.1 million trips, and the Dubai Tram served 4.2 million rides.

He praised the integrated public transport network for transforming the city's culture and attitude towards utilizing various public transport options. RTA Expands Dubai's Public Transport Network with Three New Bus Routes, Strengthening Connectivity with Metro Stations

In May, the Roads and Transport Authority introduced three new bus routes to enhance connectivity with popular Metro stations. Route 51 connects Al Khail Gate and Business Bay Metro station with buses running every 20 minutes during peak hours. Route SH1 conveniently carries commuters between Dubai Mall Metro station and Sobha Realty Metro station in JLT, with hourly buses. Meanwhile, Route YM1 operates between UAE Exchange Metro station in Jebel Ali and Yiwu Market in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, also with hourly services. These new routes are part of the emirate's efforts to integrate public transport services, with particular emphasis on complementing the Dubai Metro. As Dubai continues to focus on its public transport infrastructure, the city remains firmly on the move, catering to the needs of its growing population.
