In June 2023, an anonymous animator was cited in a Vulture article about the alleged difficulties of working on Across the Spider-Verse as expressing doubt that the film would be completed by March 2024.

"I've heard people say 'Oh, they probably worked on it at the same time'. "There is no way that movie will be released at that time," they said.

"Progress has been made in the pre-production phase. In terms of production, however, the only progress made on the third film has been any exploration or testing conducted before the film was divided into two segments."

Notably, Sony has not commented on the rumors, so as far as we know, the March 2024 release date will be met.

Early in June 2023, Phil Lord and Chris Miller told Rolling Stone that they were "well along."

Miller disclosed, "That said, there is still a lot of work to be done," while Lord added, "All we can do is keep working on things until we feel they are great."

So, let's hope that everything is on track at this time.

Here is everything you need to know about Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.

The release date for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is March 29, 2024. As stated previously, this assumes there are no production delays.

The same creative team will return for the threequel; directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, and writers Lord, Miller, and David Callaham have been concurrently working on the two films.

Delays are always possible, but let's hope they won't occur in this instance.

Beyond the Spider-Verse's cast has not yet been confirmed, but we can make some educated predictions about who will return.

Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will reprise their roles as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, respectively, with Oscar Isaac as Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099), Issa Rae as Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), and Daniel Kaluuya as Hobie Brown (Spider-Punk) likely joining them.

Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Karan Soni as Pavitr Prabhakar (Spider-Man India), and Brian Tyree Henry and Luna should also return. Lauren Vélez as Miles's parents Jefferson Davis and Rio Morales.

We're about to discuss Across the Spider-Verse spoilers, so if you haven't seen the film, please turn away now.

Gwen assembles her own company of Spider-Men from across the multiverse at the conclusion of Across the Spider-Verse, including Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker from the first film.

Hopefully, this implies Nicolas Cage, John Mulaney, and Kimiko Glenn will reprise their roles as Spider-Man in the upcoming film.

Several more Spider-People were introduced in the sequel, including Andy Samberg's Ben Reilly (Scarlet Spider) and Amandla Stenberg's Margo Kess (Spider-Byte), but there are evidently more to come.

"Believe it or not. You believed you had seen every Spider-Person imaginable, but you haven't," Lord teasingly told Collider.
