The American rapper Kanye West revealed the specifics of his upcoming concert tour—which is intended to promote his latest album—via the "Story" feature on his personal Instagram account. He also shared a photo of the pyramids, stating that it is one of his favorite locations in Egypt and that he hopes to sing in front of them.

In April, American rapper Kanye West was supposed to perform at the base of the Saqqara Pyramid. Attorney Amr Abdel Salam, for his part, told local media the specifics of the concert's cancellation.

According to Amr Abdel Salam, the concert was scheduled to violate Egyptian norms, values, and traditions; therefore, the Ministry of Interior was contacted to cancel it, and immediate legal action had been launched against the Head of the Musicians Syndicate and the Ministry of Culture and Antiquities.

The attorney went on to say that, like American artist Travis Scott, Kanye West's concert in Egypt will be canceled.

The official spokesperson for the Musical Professions Syndicate, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah, gave an explanation for why American rapper Kanye West's concert in Egypt—more precisely, the Saqqara Pyramid area of Giza—was canceled.

According to Muhammad Abdullah, Kanye West's performance in Egypt was canceled due to personal circumstances; no new date for the event has been announced.

After receiving approval from the Musicians Syndicate, Abdullah affirmed that the concert was set to take place on Saturday, April 20, as planned. This was especially true given that the permits had been obtained, the concert costs had been paid to the union, and all the necessary paperwork was in order.

Attorney Amr Abdel Salam had served the head of the Musicians Syndicate, Mostafa Kamel, with an official warning not to grant permission for American rapper Kanye West's April 20, 2024, concert at the Saqqara Pyramid area of Giza, unless the concert organizers disclosed the identities of the participating singers and provided a resume of their prior performances.

Amr Abdel Salam went on to say that the Musical Professions Syndicate ought to be required to research the artistic material that is going to be showcased at the event in order to ascertain the degree to which it aligns with Egyptian identity, literature, popular culture, and societal values.
