did john wick die in chapter 4 | Will John Wick be in Chapter 5?
Is it true that John Wick has passed away? After the release of "John Wick: Chapter 4" in March, every Keanu Reeves fan has been wondering about the answer to this question. The movie came to an end with John participating in a duel to liberate himself from the High Table, after which it is presumed that he was killed. In the third round of the duel, John is shot, and he appears to pass away on the steps of the Basilica of Sacré Coeur while having a vision of his late wife, Helen. After that, the movie jumps to the last scene, which has Winston (Ian McShane) and the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) paying their respects at John's gravestone.

The director of "John Wick: Chapter 4", Chad Stahelski, recently gave an interview to Empire magazine in which he revealed for the first time that a more definitive finale to the action tentpole was recorded and tested. In this particular iteration of the movie, there is no shadow of a doubt that John Wick makes it through the events of the duel.
"We had a different ending," Stahelski added at one point. "[The conclusion that will be shown in the theater] is the one that Keanu and I wanted, but we filmed a different one. We shot an alternate ending for the film in which John Wick appeared onscreen in the final moments of the story. Therefore, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that he was still alive. The audiences that we tested with unanimously favoured the ending that was left open-ended.
The open-ended conclusion of "John Wick: Chapter 4" has left many viewers wondering whether or not Keanu Reeves will appear in the fifth installment of the "John Wick" film series. Given that Reeves and Stahelski toyed with the idea of directly confirming John's survival at the conclusion of "Chapter 4," it is now more likely that there will be a "John Wick 5" installment.
"I don't know, I guess I'm going to have to lean on 'never say never,'" Reeves said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly after the premiere of "Chapter 4" regarding the possibility of making another installment in the series. "I mean, if it weren't for [director] Chad Stahelski, I wouldn't even consider making a 'John Wick' movie. That would require us to have a look at it first. It seems to me that it is only fitting that John Wick finally finds rest.

Will John Wick be in Chapter 5?
Reeves's interest in making "John Wick: Chapter 4" was sparked in large part by the prospect of John Wick's demise, which was the film's central plot point. During a post-screening question and answer session at the SXSW Film Festival, the actor made the following statement: "When Chad and I were talking about it, the 'why' is death, and it was John Wick's dead." That he would find some measure of tranquility or, in a sense, liberation was the impetus behind the production of the film. You need to know the "why" behind everything.
Basil Iwanyk, the producer of the John Wick franchise, was recently interviewed by IndieWire and stated that the conclusion of "John Wick: Chapter 4" has "an ambiguous ending." Regarding the passing of Wick, he continued, "I'll put it that way. We do not know the solution to this question."
Iwanyk continued by saying, "There are really only two characters." "There's John Wick and then there's John, the regular guy. The question that needs to be asked by all of us is, "OK, if the audience responds positively to the story and it does well at the box office, is there another story that can be told?" I really have no idea. But I don't think we've put ourselves in any kind of a bind by the time this movie is over, regardless of whether or not he's still alive."
It's quite unlikely that Lionsgate is ready to say goodbye to Reeves just yet. With its massive opening weekend of $73.5 million, "John Wick: Chapter 4" shattered previous franchise records and propelled the John Wick film series above the $1 billion mark at box offices around the world. The "John Wick" movie franchise will continue in 2024 with the spinoff "Ballerina," which stars Ana de Armas and also has Keanu Reeves' assassin in a supporting role. This will occur regardless of whether or not a fifth film in the series is produced.
