UAE's New Investment Minister Sworn in by President Sheikh Mohamed
President Sheikh Mohamed and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, graced the swearing-in ceremony of Mohammed Alsuwaidi, the UAE's newly appointed Minister of Investment, held in Abu Dhabi.

In attendance was Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court. Mr. Alsuwaidi, the managing director and CEO of Abu Dhabi-based investment company ADQ, was selected to lead the newly established ministry, which aims to shape the nation's investment vision.

Following a meeting of the UAE Cabinet, Sheikh Mohammed officially confirmed the appointment of Mohammed Alsuwaidi as the Minister of Investment. In a tweet, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the ministry's objectives, stating that it is focused on developing the country's investment vision, fostering a favorable investment environment, and continually enhancing competitiveness through effective procedures and legislation. The aim is to solidify the UAE's position as a global investment destination and a key player in the international investment landscape.
President Sheikh Mohamed Extends Congratulations to Minister Alsuwaidi
During the ceremony held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, President Sheikh Mohamed congratulated Mohammed Alsuwaidi on his appointment to the country's ministerial ranks. Emphasizing the significance of national investment in the UAE's development journey, the President highlighted the ministry's role in enhancing the country's economic status by creating an attractive investment climate. The event was attended by several ministers and officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Minister of Finance, and First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, and Minister of the Interior, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Mariam Al Mheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and Minister of State for Food Security.
Diverse Roles of Minister Alsuwaidi
In addition to leading ADQ, Mohammed Alsuwaidi holds several other prominent positions. He serves as the chairman of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (Taqa), Pure Health, and ADC Acquisition Corporation, according to ADQ's website. Furthermore, he is the deputy chairman of Masdar, Abu Dhabi's clean energy company, and the second vice chairman of Aldar Properties. Mr. Alsuwaidi's board directorships include Adnoc Distribution, Adnoc Gas, the Abu Dhabi Pension Fund, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Louis Dreyfus Company, Al Dahra Holding, Lulu Group International, and MiZa. His extensive experience and diverse roles position him well to contribute to the country's investment initiatives.
