On Monday, the Dubai Municipality announced the deployment of a 12-member field team overseeing 72 sanitation workers who will be working around the clock to preserve the cleanliness of Dubai's public beaches. Allocation of Workers and Equipment for Beach Cleaning

Saeed Abdul Rahim Safar, Acting Director of Waste Management Operations at Dubai Municipality, stated, "We have established a field crew to monitor the cleanliness of Dubai's beaches, extending over 19 kilometers, around the clock. This team is equipped with 13 modern vehicles and equipment to enhance quick response to communications and emergency cases. According to an integrated operational plan divided into three daily shifts, cleaning operations on the beaches will also be conducted " , Deira Beach and Bur Dubai Beach are covered by 48 workers, while Mamzar Beach is attended by 24 workers. Dubai Municipality emphasizes comprehensive waste management and cleaning operations to maintain the city's environmental sustainability, enhance the attractiveness and beauty of its beaches, known as top tourist destinations worldwide. These efforts encompass the provision of integrated municipal services throughout various facilities and areas of the emirate , To ensure the highest cleanliness standards on the beaches, the municipality has installed 216 waste collection facilities along Deira and Bur Dubai beaches, placed within a visible and accessible distance of 50 meters from each other. This is done to ensure swift and efficient task completion. Furthermore, the field teams also monitor the newly launched nightly cleaning services on the beaches of Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, and Umm Suqeim 1, covering a total length of 800 meters for night swimming, said Safar , In addition to allocating resources and modern machinery to handle all emergency cases on the beaches, Dubai Municipality has established an emergency response and waste management team. This team will ensure swift coordination, direct communication, and immediate response to such cases.

Community Cleaning Efforts

During the first half of 2023, the municipality conducted 63 community volunteer activities with the participation of over 2,165 volunteers as part of the "Clean-Up Hour" initiative, which has been implemented since 2017. The aim is to preserve the cleanliness of public beaches while promoting individuals' social responsibility towards environmental sustainability and city cleanliness , To uphold general cleanliness, Dubai Municipality emphasizes incorporating public suggestions into new programs and projects while aspiring to apply the best practices and current global standards in beach cleanliness.
